No job description here. If that bothers you, this probably isn't the place.

We don't hire against a list of requirements. We look for people who take a problem apart to understand it, not to check a box, and we'd rather find out how you think than read your resume.

Why we do it this way

A job posting describes a shape and asks people to fit it. Most of the work worth doing here doesn’t have a clean shape yet. We’d rather meet someone whose thinking doesn’t fit a listing than fill a role just because the listing existed.

That means there’s nothing to apply to below. Instead, there’s a sense of the kind of thinking we’re actually looking for, and a way to reach us.

What tends to stand out to us

You question the premise

Given a problem, you check whether it's actually the right problem before you start solving it. You've talked a client, or a manager, out of the request they walked in with.

You go find the number yourself

When a report doesn't add up, you trace it back to the source instead of repeating it. You'd rather be right and slower than fast and wrong.

You explain things plainly

You can walk a non-specialist through a complicated idea without losing the substance. If you can't explain it simply, you go back and understand it better.

Get in touch directly

We don’t run a formal pipeline for this. Write to us, tell us what you’ve worked on and what you’d want to work on here, and include something you built, fixed, or figured out that you’re genuinely proud of. We read everything ourselves.
